Lecturer profileSue Boynton BDS LLM FFGDP(UK) FFFLM is a retired dentist with over 20 years’ experience in primary care dentistry. She is recognised for assisting numerous dental professionals with a wide range of dentolegal issues over almost 20 years.

Sue works as an Independent Dentolegal Consultant, using her extensive, in-depth, knowledge and experience gained from her work over many years with a dental indemnity organisation. She continues to assist dentists and dental teams with dentolegal issues including GDC, CQC, complaints and claims.

On top of her wide-ranging experience of complex dentolegal issues, Sue also brings her expertise to articles and e-learning initiatives. She is part of the Profession-wide complaints handling initiative working group and Sue is a member of the National Advisory Board for Human Factors in Dentistry.

Sue has a Master’s Degree in Medical Law, and is a Fellow of the Faculty of General Dental Practice, a Fellow of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine, and an NLP Master. She shares her knowledge and expertise on dentolegal issues in the UK and internationally and is a hugely popular speaker who is passionate about risk management and helping dental teams.

Lecturer profileCatherine is the Dental Nurse Education Commissioner for Health Education England, working across the Yorkshire and Humber region and based at Leeds. She is an independent dental trainer, a dental nurse Licentiate, and holds a post qualification in Oral Health Education from the NEBDN.

A further education tutor and assessor, she has delivered the NEBDN Certificate and Diploma in dental nursing to student dental nurses at the Leeds Dental Institute.

More recently she has widened her field of interest to leadership and management in healthcare, completing the Edward Jenner Leadership Foundations programme and the Mary Seacole Award in in Leading in Healthcare with the NHS Leadership Academy. In 2015 Catherine completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership with the Open University, passing with Merit.

In 2018 she completed a Master’s Degree in Learning and Development Management at the University of Huddersfield, graduating with distinction.
