Lecturer profile | Julia has an honors degree in Education and Professional Development and holds a range of post qualifications to support her role in dental education. In 2016 she was awarded Fellowship from the Faculty of Dental Trainers [FDT] at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and is an executive member of the FDT board. In 2019 Julia was made an Ambassador of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh Faculty of Dental Surgery.
She works at Health Education England [Yorks and Humber] as part of Dental Workforce Development where she commissions and delivers education to dental teams. She also supports general dental practices involved in Dental Foundation Training, Therapy Foundation Training and Performance List Validation by Experience [PLVE].
Julia is a Tutor at Leeds Dental Institute teaching the NEBDN Diploma in Dental Nursing and quality assures both pre-registration training and post-graduate educational courses. In 2006 Julia became an examiner for the NEBDN, swiftly moving into a Supervising Examiner role, then in 2014 Diploma Committee member; writing and quality assuring written exam papers and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations.

Lecturer profile | Geraldine is a Dental Workforce Development Postgraduate Tutor for Health Education England, based at the University of Leeds. This role involves development, provision and commissioning of high quality CPD to support a multi-professional workforce and meet the needs of NHS Flexible Commissioning. Geraldine is part of the Dental Foundation quality management training practice inspection team.
Geraldine has also worked for the GDC for over 10 years in registration assessment of EEA and Non EEA applicants, educational quality assurance of UK dental schools and fitness to practise. Current roles being as an Investing Committee Chair and Clinical Case Examiner.
Geraldine is a Dental Specialist Advisor for the Care Quality Commission, participating in primary and secondary care dental inspections and specialising in infection control.
Geraldine is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh Faculty of Dental Trainers and sits on the Executive Board.

Lecturer profile | Catherine is the Dental Nurse Education Commissioner for Health Education England, working across the Yorkshire and Humber region and based at Leeds. She is an independent dental trainer, a dental nurse Licentiate, and holds a post qualification in Oral Health Education from the NEBDN.
A further education tutor and assessor, she has delivered the NEBDN Certificate and Diploma in dental nursing to student dental nurses at the Leeds Dental Institute.
More recently she has widened her field of interest to leadership and management in healthcare, completing the Edward Jenner Leadership Foundations programme and the Mary Seacole Award in in Leading in Healthcare with the NHS Leadership Academy. In 2015 Catherine completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership with the Open University, passing with Merit.
In 2018 she completed a Master’s Degree in Learning and Development Management at the University of Huddersfield, graduating with distinction. |

Lecturer profile | Imran is a current HEE leadership fellow and is a final year Oral Surgery Trainee.
He is a qualified Advanced Life Support instructor and leads a number of simulation based courses within dentistry. Imran is also developing and leading a sedation training network for Yorkshire and Humber and is an STAC accredited supervisor.
Imran has completed Postgraduate Certificates in Healthcare Education and more recently in Healthcare Leadership.
