Lecturer profileSteve is a Councillor and recent trustee with the National Autistic Society (NAS) and has been a member of the NAS Advisory Board for past three years. He is Autism Consultant with Sensory Integration Network UK & Ireland. Speaking at both the NAS and Sensory Integration Professional and Sensory conferences each year. He is also a Specialist Visiting Lecturer (SVL) at Sheffield Hallam University and Belfast University.

Late 2010 he set up MSITUA – Autism Consultancy – Through which he presents training sessions on autism, moving on from diagnosis, sensory integration awareness, and behaviour that challenges, for delivery to Adult Social Care and Educational settings within Liverpool, Hartlepool, Rotherham,Doncaster, Bradford, Cumbria and many more Local Authorities from a first person perspective. He also provides training programmes for delivery to private sector providers on autism and sensory awareness for Hesley Group, AutismCare UK, Mariner Care, MyLife, amongst others.

Steve works with individuals with autism and asperger syndrome in Liverpool, Leeds Sheffield and Bromley and Cornwall on projects designed by him aimed to assist individuals to reach their true potential. He delivers training in schools on inset training days around the country some these sessions include the use of puppets to peers of autistic individuals and staff.

Steve has been involved with Axcis Educational Recruitment for some time now delivering sessions around the country for their regional teams/membership.

Merseyside Joint Partnership as an associate, training/advising parents and professionals and commissioners in raising awareness, works closely with In-Control, Is a graduate of Partners in Policymaking and he presents for them on courses around the country. He has worked on government funded autism projects in Education, Health and Social Care.

Steve has a 18yr old son, he and his son are both on the autistic spectrum and high functioning, As such Steve offers up an interesting first person perspective and insight into some of the areas that are little talked about by many people in mainstream society.
