Lecturer profileAfter graduating from Leeds in 1981 I worked in NHS practice, first as an associate, then later as a principal until 2014. I have been involved with Foundation training since 1996 starting as a trainer then later as a Training Programme Director for the various schemes in Yorkshire. Currently I am Associate Postgraduate Dental Dean for Dental Foundation Training in Health Education England working across Yorkshire and the Humber. I volunteer with Dentaid and have worked with a team setting up a charity surgery in Pakistan and more recently with projects in the UK for those unable to access NHS dentistry.

Lecturer profileGeorge graduated with honours from the University of Sheffield and has since been in general practice working predominantly in the NHS. George now shares his time between his work as Associate Dentolegal Adviser for Dental Protection in Leeds, and general practice where he is appointed Foundation Trainer with the Health Education England South Yorkshire.

Having a keen interest in dental education, George is the current Training Programme Director for the Performer List Validation by Experience process in South Yorkshire and the Humber.

As a GDP representative on the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Dental Local Professional Network Steering Group, George sits on the working groups for procurement of the Community Dental Services and Access to Primary Dental Care. George is an active member of the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Local Dental Committee, and has responsibility for events in the region. In 2015 he was appointed Postgraduate Dental Tutor with Health Education England working across Yorkshire and the Humber and is the current President of the South Yorkshire Branch of the BDA.

George has achieved the Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Law and Ethics.
