Understand the aetiology of dental caries and describe the mechanisms of fluoride in caries prevention

Describe GDC ‘Standards for the Dental Team’ and relate it to their role in patient care

Exhibit knowledge and understanding of the process and procedure of topical fluoride application through written assignments

Demonstrate competence in the procedure of topical fluoride application for adults and children

Complete a portfolio of practical and theoretical evidence to support their role in applying topical fluoride

Understand the delivery of universal and targeted prevention and in particular the programme targeted prevention pathways

Be aware of the importance of communication and models of behaviour change

Be aware of the components of the Flexible Commissioning prevention & Access programme
