Description | A full day of seminars and hands-on practicals to help practitioners improve their tooth preparation skills to produce more successful resin retained and conventional bridge preparations. Candidates will be given the opportunity to prepare 3 unit conventional bridges to hone their skill set. |

Aims | To describe indications and contraindications for bridgework. To describe the design features/indications and contraindications of resin bonded bridge work. To describe the design features/indications and contraindications of conventional bridge work. |
Objectives | Understand the indications, design features and limitations of adhesive bridge work. Understand the uses, advantages and disadvantages of conventional bridgework. Understand the maintenance requirements and longevity of adhesive bridge work and conventional bridgework. Understand the principles of extra-coronal tooth preparation including the importance of retention and resistance form Understand the preparation and design features of a conventional metal ceramic crown and zirconia bridge retainer. Know the importance of an accurate master impression/locating impression/jaw registration when treatment planning and providing fixed prosthodontics. Be able to prepare teeth for a 3 unit conventional metal ceramic bridge and a 3 unit conventional all ceramic bridge. |
