Description | This is a nationally provided fit testing course, which has been described in the latest letter for preparedness dated 13.07.2020. The course is Fit2Fit approved and delivered by Fit2Fit accredited fit tester. This course only covers disposable FFP3/FFP2/N95 and reusable half mask respirators. This course will provide education and training, in line with Fit2Fit guidance on fit testing. The face to face aspect is 1 day and covers the theory and practical aspect of fit testing. This course will not provide a formalised fit test for applicants. Additional information | Anyone who is COVID-19 positive/symptomatic/isolating due to being a household or support bubble contact/isolating due to being identified as a contact by NHS Test and Trace/in quarantine following return from another country/awaiting a COVID-19 test result should NOT attend the training session. The course is Fit2Fit approved and delivered by Fit2Fit accredited fit tester. This course only covers disposable FFP3/FFP2/N95 and reusable half mask respirators. By attending this course, all delegates consent to applying for a short term redeployment for fit testing within the Yorkshire and Humber region. As part of this, there will be a free fit test training course, and a free fit test kit provided. An honorary contract will be provided by NHS England HR team prior to attendance at the course, providing relevant employer’s liability cover for fit testing. There is no payment associated with this honorary contract or redeployment, and hence it is required that any volunteer must already be in employment/have self-employed payslips within a primary care dental practice, or on an NHS performers list. In order to apply, any delegate must ensure they meet the minimum requirements in the person specification and complete the attached DBS self-declaration and Occupational health self-assessment (all attached). They should have in-date certification and scanned documents as per below. These documents can be kept until requested by NHS England HR team. Central HR team have agreed to support the programme and in addition to issuing the Honorary Contracts for fit testers will undertake the following checks: Identity e.g. scanned copy of passport Current employment (payslip) If they are a self-employed NHS dentist, regions would be able to verify that they appear under the contract on COMPASS/performers list number DBS self-declaration (attached) Occupational Health self-declaration (attached) Certificates to prove: Training in Basic Life Support in line with Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines Training in Managing Medical Emergencies Training in Infection Prevention Control If you book onto a training course at least 2 weeks prior to the course date, your details will automatically be sent to NHSE. NHSE will then contact you for your documentation for organising the honorary contract. If you book onto a course within 2 weeks of the course date, you will need to inform NHSE by emailing england.yhdentalreturns@nhs.net and HEE by emailing dentaladmin.yh@hee.nhs.uk to help them organise the honorary contract as a priority. No documentation needs to be seen by HEE or our regional team. | ||||||

Aims | This course aims to provide candidates with the skills required to conduct practical testing of disposable and half mask RPE. Thus enabling employers to help demonstrate compliance with legislation and guidance contained within INDG479 and HSG53. | ||||||
