To enhance knowledge, skills and competencies in safeguarding children and to discuss dental neglect and its impact on children

Objectives
  • To discuss dental neglect as a sign of wider neglect
  • Build confidence in how and when to make a referral
  • Explore what happens once a referral has been made
Learning outcomes
  • Apply knowledge in decision making relating to safeguarding including information sharing and when to make a referral
  • Demonstrate and give examples of how to escalate and when to liaise with others
  • Explain how to use a staged model for managing dental neglect
