Aims

To inform and guide delegates in the responsibilities of a General Dental Practice Legionella Responsible Person role.

Objectives
  • Identification of individual and company responsibilities and consequences of failure to adhere to these requirements. An introduction HSE’s ACoP L8 and HS274 Part 2 and an explanation of other legally enforceable legislation relating to legionella.
  • Understand the key requirement of the HSE ACoP and HTM 01-05 to carry out a risk assessment on all properties containing water services.
  • To consider the records that should be kept to demonstrate compliance with the appropriate legislation.
