Aims

To discuss the diagnosis and management of children with complex dental and medical needs through a series of case based discussions

Objectives
  • Multiple complex case scenarios will be presented
  • Delegates to diagnose and treatment plan the cases giving various options for treatment using different modalities e.g. LA, IHS or GA
  • Discuss when to refer to specialist care.
Learning outcomes
  •  Be able to formulate a differential diagnosis for children with complex dental and/or medical needs and be able to develop treatment options for a range of scenarios.
  •  Be confident debating, with reference to contemporary evidence, the relative benefits of various treatment strategies.
  •  Have confidence in recognising when multidisciplinary care is required
