DescriptionA one day course with mainly hands-on components to take you from assessment of the broken down tooth through to restoration with indirect materials; covering material selection, local anaesthesia, tooth preparation for metal, metal-ceramic, all-ceramic and monolithic zirconia restorations (including vertipreps), impressions, temporisation and cementation. This course covers crowns, partial coverage crowns, inlays, onlays, overlays and veneers.

Aims

To teach a range of conventional and new tooth restoration techniques, including indirect restorations such as crowns, overlays, onlays, endocrowns, vertipreps from planning to cementation

Objectives
  • Select a suitable indirect material and tooth preparation design
  • Prepare teeth accurately and quickly using new margin designs and carry out predictable impressions
  • Place effective provisional restorations and understand cementation protocols for different materials
Learning outcomes
  • Know when to use indirect materials to restore root filled and broken-down teeth
  • Use aesthetic and functional direct and indirect restorations and know which materials and techniques to select for a given clinical situation
  • Design and make suitable provisional restorations and understand and use the destination driven approach to tooth preparation
