Aims

To train dentists in the use of composite materials. Hands-on sessions include anterior veneers with direct and preform techniques, and posterior teeth using a range of direct, chairside and indirect techniques. Emphasis is on simple effective placement and finishing procedures.

Objectives
  • To teach dentists how to use composite and adhesives to repair damaged teeth.
  • To teach techniques for the restoration of worn teeth and to be able to select and use appropriate materials
  • To be able to achieve aesthetic results while restoring teeth and smiles.
Learning outcomes
  • Assess damaged teeth and select treatment options
  • Use adhesives and composites to replace missing tooth tissue aesthetically and functionally, using bulk-fill, monolayer and multilayer techniques
  • Replace missing tooth with a range of adhesive direct and indirect techniques and decide when to use composite rather than ceramic.
