DescriptionReturn of a firm favourite! Core Topics provides educational peer review for DCPs covering a range of subjects aligned with Personal Development Plans. The course provides opportunities for DCPs to develop as educators. Those who do not wish to participate in speaking can enjoy a variety of topics delivered by peers and support their development through feedback. Potential speakers are encouraged to read the attached document and follow the process to work with experienced tutors in putting together a micro-teach session which can be deliver during this CPD event. A try-before-you-buy approach to stepping into the world of speaking and understanding more about becoming an educator.

Aims

To provide DCPs with knowledge of current guidance and legislation requirements for several lifelong learning subjects when undertaking a clinical role in dentistry.

Objectives

Design an effective PDP. Recognise how risk assessments are used to underpin good practice. Describe the principles of radiation protection (IRMER 2017). Explain diseases relevant to dentistry and describe the process of decontamination. Discuss professionalism and ethics as a means to reduce complaints.

Learning outcomes

Apply learning to practice to facilitate patient care and satisfy regulatory requirements for effective personal development planning.
