Aims

This short learning expereince is aimed at updating dental professionals on the legal responsilbities regarding Legionella for general dental practices.

Objectives
  • Describe the procedures for dental unit water line maintenance and overview management of water systems in line with HTM 01-05, HTM 04-01, ACOP L8 (2013) and the HSE HSG274 Part 2 (2014 )
  • Explore the Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activates) Regulations 2014 and how to demonstrate regulation compliance regarding Legionella at a CQC inspection.
Learning outcomes

By the end of the learning session, delegates should have an improved knwoledge of the Legionella requirements for general dental practices and understand how to maintain DUWLs whilst decommissioned.
