Common Oral Medicine Problems

Aims:

To increase awareness of the presentation, diagnosis and management of the more common Oral Medicine diseases

To highlight and review the clinical features of these diseases

To review the referral process and the role of interdisciplinary working for patients with Oral Medicine conditions

 

Aims:

To outline the scope of restorative dentistry.

To reinforce the importance of assessment and treatment planning.

To discuss the aetiology, diagnosis, prevention and management of common prosthodontic, endodontic and periodontal problems.

Objectives:

To have a better understanding and knowledge of the more common Oral Medicine diseases and their management

Better recognition of signs & symptoms of these diseases

Be able to more accurately describe oral lesions/conditions

Better understanding of referral pathways and follow-up protocols

Restorative Treatment Planning

Following this course delegates will:

Understand the role of the Consultant in Restorative Dentistry

Be able to diagnose, prevent and manage common prosthodontic, endodontic and periodontal problems.
