Aims

To facilitate effective working relationships between dental nurses and foundation dentists during the foundation training year.

To support the supportive team working approach to patient centered care.

Objectives

By the end of the session dental nurses will be able to:

  •  Describe the role of the dental nurse to support FD learning and development
  •  Understand the foundation training year
  • Recognise the importance of early engagement
  • Respond effectively to attitudes and behaviours – dealing with difficult situations
  • Provide feedback to empower autonomous reflective learning
