DescriptionThis short evening course will meet the clinical needs for dental nurses, Hygienists and Therapists not actively taking X-rays in clinic, and enable them to enhance knowledge in the principles and legislative requirements for their specific role. GDC Development Outcome C is met: Maintaining and developing knowledge and skills.

Aims

Aims to provide delegates with an understanding about the general principles of dental radiation. Radiation legislation will be discussed and quality assurance highlighted.

Objectives

By the end of the session delegates will be able to:

Describe the principles of dental radiography

Recognise the importance of a quality assurance programme

Discuss the implications of NEW IR(ME)R and IRR legislation.
