DescriptionThis major event is organised for the whole dental team as a prelude to “Mouth Cancer Awareness Week” in November. The symposium presents Oral Cancer from the patient’s point of view and discusses ways in which the patient can be supported by the Dental Team. Different aspects of the disease from epidemiology, aetiology and screening to early diagnosis and referral as well as pre- and post-treatment support will be presented. The topics will be covered by specialists in this field on what will be an informative and enjoyable day.

  • To describe oral lesions that may need fast track referral and explain the appropriate pathway for urgent referrals

  • To describe methods of providing ongoing long term support.
