This Hands on 3-hour course in the Clinical Skills Lab at Leeds Dental Institute is aimed at dentists/therapists and their nurses to learn how you can isolate teeth in different situations quickly and with relative ease in adults and children.

We will cover various methods for moisture control, rubber dam sheets, classification of clamps, securing the dam, isolating quadrants and sextants. Common problems with rubber dam will also be addressed such as class v cavities and severely broken-down teeth.

Our Speakers expertise in paediatric and restorative dentistry should make this course very popular.

Aims

To provide understanding of a variety of techniques to isolate teeth and why this is important in dental practice through short lectures and clinical hands on practical sessions.

By the end of the session delegates should-

Recognise when and why rubber dam should be used in general practice

Recognise when and why rubber dam should be used on children

Have practiced and gained confidence in placing Rubber Dam

Develop an understanding of dental nurses role with rubber dam techniques

Appreciate the various components of rubber dam kit

Appreciate clinical situations that would require rubber dam

Be able to isolate single tooth and quadrants with rubber dam in a consistent and efficient manner for various clinical situations
