Aims | To discuss medical conditions that affect children and discuss the impact on health and subsequent management. This will be followed by a basic refresher on Clinical Governance in relation to Paediatric Dentistry. |
Objectives | To train Level 2 practitioners to safely provide dental care to patients with medical conditions Further knowledge of the roles of a consultant, specialist, level 2 and primary care practitioner in the delivery of specialist paediatric dental care Identify areas where audit and quality improvement projects would be of benefit |
Learning outcomes | Demonstrate an understanding of dental treatment for patients with common medical conditions & their associated oral consequences. Correspond with other healthcare professionals to ensure Paediatric patients have dental care provided in the optimal environment Lead and undertake clinical governance projects |
