DescriptionBSPD Ridings Branch are delighted to host an evening lecture delivered by Stephen Fayle. Stephen is well known in the paedicatric dentistry world at both a national and international level and is passionate about inproving the dental health of children. He is Past-President of the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry (BSPD), and currently leads the BSPD commissioning working party. He recently Chaired the NHS England Development Group for the Paediatric Dentistry Commissioning Guide so there is no better person to provide this update!

Aims

To review the latest data about dental disease in children in England To explore progress of recent action to minimize the burden of dental disease in children, and review how effectively the needs of those children with disease are being met.

Objectives

Following the presentation attendees will: * Understand the prevalence and effects of dental disease in children * Have a better insight into what is being done to address the challenges this presents, both in prevention of disease and management of those children already affected. * Be updated on progress with the development of local Pediatric Dentistry Managed Clinical Network * Appreciate options and opportunities for further improvement of current provision: o Prevention: population and patient-based approaches o Organisation of treatment services: structure and workforce
