Aims

To provide Dentists, Therapists and Dental Nurses/support staff who have a radiology qualification and want to remain registered as being able to take dental radiographs, with CPD. teaching on

  • The principles of radiation physics.
  • Risks of ionising radiation.
  • Radiation doses in dental radiography.
  • Factors affecting dose in dental radiography.
  • The principles of radiation protection.
  • Statutory requirements.
  • Selection criteria (for practitioners and not operators).
  • Quality assurance.

This will provide the necessary 5 hours of CPD. in a five year cycle.

Objectives

To ensure dentists and those dental practice staff who take dental radiographs are properly informed and prepared for taking dental radiographs and are covered with 5 hours of core CPD. for their five year cycle.
