SubjectSedation
DescriptionThis Certificate in Dental Sedation Nursing is a post-registration qualification awarded by the NEBDN. Applicants should have the full support of their specialist Practice / organisation and must be able to attend all teaching sessions. To ensure the dental sedation qualifications reflect the areas of practice the dental nurse works in, three options are offered: Option 1 Certificate in Dental Sedation Nursing Option 2 Award in Inhalation Sedation Dental Nursing Option 3 Award in Intravenous Sedation Dental Nursing All three qualifications are at the same level. The titles ‘Award’ and ‘Certificate’ indicate the difference in the number of learning hours required to complete each qualification. The Certificate is made up by achieving both the Awards (inhalation and iV). Underpinning knowledge is the same syllabus across all areas and concludes in the same exam. All teaching days would be the same for all students (there is not a different syllabus). It is just the ROC that differs depending on the student workplace (availability of IV or Inhalation).
