Aims

To provide an update for Educational Supervisors involved with Dental Foundation Training.

Objectives

· To discuss the outcomes of the SCDFT year

· To consider an FD’s perspective of National Recruitment for DCT

· To examine the power of audit in a DFT practice

· To review the provision and outcomes of community based interventions in the HEE YH region

· To update ES’s on the hands on study days in the programme

· To consider ways of treating management of toothwear cases to FD’s

Learning outcomes

On completion of this course you will be able to:

· Understand the regional outcomes for this year’s SCDFT

· Identify and understand what support a DFT training practice can give an FD preparing for a DCT National Recruitment

· Understand more about antibiotic guardianship

Know more about community oral health programme’s running in the region

· Maximise learning opportunities for your FD to compliment the Hands on study day programme

· To support your FD better to treat patients with toothwear in general practice
