Aims

To provide restorative trainees with the core knowledge required on the treatment pathways involved in the treatment of head and neck cancer.

Objectives
  • To gain an understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancer
  • To have an awareness of the oral impacts of head and neck cancer therapy
  • To have an understanding of the treatment modalities available for oral rehabilitation
Learning outcomes

By the end of the course delegates should:

  • Be able to describe the treatment options available to treat head and neck cancer
  • Understand the role of the restorative dentist on the head and neck MDT
  • Be aware of the principles involved with pre-radiotherapy assessment
  • Be able to describe the treatment options available following maxillary and mandibular resections.
