Aims

To increase knowledge about the diagnosis and management of tooth wear and to increase knowledge about the diagnosis and immediate and long-term management of dental trauma. 

Objectives
  • To discuss the aetiology, diagnosis, prevention and management of tooth wear
  • To demonstrate how the Dahl concept can be used predictably
  • To debate the types of tooth wear cases that should be managed in secondary care
  • To summarise contemporary best practice in assessment, diagnosis and immediate management of dental trauma.
  • To illustrate evidence on prognosis for traumatised teeth, appropriate review intervals and treatment planning in the growing and adult patient.
  • To consider long term treatment options following dental trauma
