Aims
  • To investigate and compare the effectiveness and outcome of two differing approaches for management of caries in the primary dentition, the conventional approach including complete caries removal with or without pulpotomy and biological approach involving Hall Technique and indirect pulp capping.
  • Study and compare the costs of provision of the two treatment approaches to the NHS.
  • Explore the acceptance and satisfaction with the two treatment approaches for the child and parents
Objectives
  • Audience will learn about the outcomes of the two treatment approaches, the biological and the conventional.
  • Audience will learn about the effectiveness and the cost of the two treatment approaches including the Hall versus conventional crowns.
  • Audience will be able to make an informed decision on the appropriate treatment modalities for their patients.
  • Audience will learn about the advantages and disadvantages of both treatment approaches from child and parents perspectives.
