DescriptionThis level 2 safeguarding course will increase knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding Children, Safeguarding Adults and the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and equip participants with the skills to apply in every day practice.

The Workshop will be delivered by two trainers to ensure a breadth of knowledge and expertise, to facilitate scenario based discussions and provide support to individual participants

Aims

The course aim is to deliver level 2 training to support the dental team in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults.

Objectives
  • Understand the national policy and legislation that supports Safeguarding Children, Adults and MCA
  • Understand your own professional role, responsibilities and professional boundaries
  • Recognise own beliefs, experience and attitudes
  • Understand the role of other partners
  • Develop confidence in assessment, evaluation of evidence, decision making, record keeping, referral and information sharing
  • Act as an effective advocate for children and vulnerable adults
