This is a joint annual Restorative away day aimed at restorative specialty trainees, specialists and consultants from the Northern and Yorkshire and Humber regions. The morning session will encopass lectures covering an update on restorative materials, direct composite matrix transfer techniques and a biopsychosocial perspective on pain. The afternoon session will involve lectures on The holistic care of our Special care patients and Aerosols and droplets in dentistry - from research to practice. There will also be case presentations followed by interactive Q&A.

Aims

This course will provide an update on composite materials, matrix transfer techniques, orofacial pain, special care dentistry and bioaerosols in dentistry.

Objectives

· To discuss the latest composite dental materials and matrix transfer techniques in Restorative dentistry.

· To identify and discuss common challenges faced when planning complex care for special care patients as part of an MDT.

· To increase understanding of dental bioaerosols.

Learning outcomes

Predictably place modern composite materials using a range of different matrix transfer techniques.

Better manage patients with complex medical and dental needs in collaboration with special care dentistry

Describe how bioaerosols are assesed and managed in a dental surgery setting.
