Trust Induction

The structure and landscape of the Trust

Knowledge of Trust-wide policies and how/where to find them

Expected conduct of the trainee by the Trust

Contractual commitments of the trainee to the Trust

Mandatory training

Structure of support and escalation pathways to raise concerns regarding training and patient care

Instruction/training in all IT facilities to be used by the trainee

Guidance on Annual/Study/Sickness Leave policies and protocols

Trainees new to a ward based post NOT work alone for the first 2 weeks.

Attendance records of trainees sign in/out of induction sessions be kept.

It is intended that after all induction processes, the trainee will be familiar with timetables, local activity in the specialty and is safe to start training in both clinical and professional capacity with evidence to support it
