Aims | To ensure the new trainee has sufficient knowledge and skills to conduct clinical training SAFELY, Effectively and Efficiently. |
Objectives | Trust Induction The structure and landscape of the Trust Knowledge of Trust-wide policies and how/where to find them Expected conduct of the trainee by the Trust Contractual commitments of the trainee to the Trust Mandatory training Structure of support and escalation pathways to raise concerns regarding training and patient care Instruction/training in all IT facilities to be used by the trainee Guidance on Annual/Study/Sickness Leave policies and protocols Specialty/Departmental Induction Welcome Who’s who in the department Name of Educational Supervisor and Training Programme Director Geographical bearings/department/wards/units Timetable/Rota/Shift systems Introduction and essential information from all units/specialties encountered within training programme. Clinical Duties Shadowing if possible Clinical competency training and sign off in all procedures the trainee is expected to perform independently Consent training Standard operational procedures for all clinical sessions All local guidelines/protocols of clinical procedures and how/where to find them |
