Aims

To discuss the diagnosis and management of children with complex dental and medical needs through a series of case based discussions.

Objectives
  • Multiple complex case scenarios will be presented for discussion
  • Participants will diagnose and treatment plan the cases giving various options for treatment using different modalities e.g. LA, IHS or GA 
  • When and how to refer to specialist care will be discussed
Learning outcomes
  • Formulate differential diagnoses for children with complex dental and/or medical needs
  • Develop treatment options for a range of paediatric scenarios
  • Have confidence in debating, with reference to contemporary evidence, the relative benefits of various treatment strategies when managing more complex paediatric dental cases who may require multidisciplinary care
