DescriptionHave you ever been in a situation where you want to challenge someone’s behaviour - but you didn’t know how to do it or what to say? Active Bystander training will help you challenge poor behaviours which may have become normalised over time. This interactive session includes self-coaching techniques to help you keep a cool head when you’re faced with a challenging situation - and assertive language devices which you can use to make sure your voice is heard if you want to raise a concern.

Booking courses

Aims

To learn how to challenge inappropriate behaviour in the workplace and create a safe and supportive working environment within our workplace community

Objectives

To equip attendees with the confidence, knowledge and skills to speak up in the face of inappropriate behaviour

Learning outcomes

After attending this training, delegates will be furnished with the tools and the confidence to speak up if they witness poor behaviour.

  • Gain an understanding of what bystander apathy is and the importance of being an Active Bystander
  • Learn skills and techniques to challenge bullying, harassment, micro aggressions and other inappropriate behaviours
  • Learn decision-making techniques to help overcome fear and self-doubt when faced with a challenging situation
  • Gain language skills to be able to speak out confidently and assertively  whether dealing with the challenge directly or calling for help from others.
