Description | A Consultation Skills refresher for doctors returning to work in a primary care setting. We will consider the consultation skills used needed in everyday practice. There will then be the opportunity to rehearse these skills in small and supportive groups, with an experienced role player. |
Additional information | Suitable for GP Registrars and Foundation Doctors returning to posts in a Primary Care Setting. Aims | Improved confidence in consultation skills for doctors returning to training. |
Objectives | A combination of small group discussion, videos and role play opportunities will be used to ensure that doctors develop: 1) Increased confidence in their consultation skills when returning to practice. 2) Skills in managing uncertainty within the consultation. 3) Time management skills within the consultation. |
Learning outcomes | By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 1) Confidently conduct a consultation in the primary care setting. 2) Manage uncertainty within the consultation. 3) Manage time within the consultation. |
