Additional information | We are both practising clinicians who experience the ups and downs of front-line healthcare on a daily basis. These tools and techniques are how we stay afloat. Aims | The aims of this workshop are: - To raise awareness of the importance of resilience in General Practice
- To provide delegates with the opportunity to improve their self-awareness
- To explore a wide range of practical skills, including mindfulness and meditation, from which delegates will create a bespoke resilience toolkit
- To reduce the risk of burnout and encourage GPs to appreciate the joy of General Practice

Objectives | The specific course objectives are: - To provide an objective measure of delegates current resilience
- To explore and apply models for developing self-awareness
- To teach a host of practical resilience tools for integration into the workplace including:
- The Five-Point Rescue Plan framework - Delegates will learn how to deconstruct any problem and understand the limitations of the situation. The focus will be to concentrate on factors which can be changed and to develop their own plan to affect the most positive outcome. They will determine the nature of and overcome their resistance to change.
- NLP techniques for the consultation, communication and conflict situations.
- ‘The White Room’ a tool for achieving Mindfulness
- Meditation including 3 guided meditations to take away
- Visualisation techniques to reboot between patients and at the end of surgery
- Rewording our mantras
- Harnessing the power of ritual
- Compartmentalising and its uses
- How to delegate effectively
- Being assertive

Learning outcomes | When delegates have completed the course they will have: - An understanding of the value of stillness and creating peace in the workplace
