SubjectGP Intending Trainers
DescriptionWPBAs and Educational Supervision for Intending GP Trainers. Day 1 of this 2 day course will support a change in the approval system to enable intending trainers already on the trainer approval pathway undertaking or having completed the PGCME to commence training. The course provides part of the mandatory training requirements for you to apply for the accelerated pathway for intending GP Trainers prior to the completion of your PGCME. Other mandatory requirements are listed on the Y&H Deanery GP School website. Please note you are required to attend both day Tuesday 2nd July & Thursday 4th July 2019. Attendance at this course could enable you to start training in February 2020 (subject to a successful application and interview - final submission date of 1/8/19)

Open to all intending trainers though we will be prioritising intending trainers from those areas where there is currently a shortage of trainers.

Aims

 
 

Objectives
  • We will be covering all aspects of WPBA, the CSR and ESR.
  • There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and picking up tips on how to use WPBA  Educator Notes, the CSR and ESR effectively and efficiently and how to save time as a Trainer and Educational Supervisor.
  • Share ideas about how to make the most of these assessment tools.
  • There will be an opportunity for benchmarking and how we can ensure Trainees are treated fairly.

  • Improved understanding of what is required to conduct WPBA.
  • Developing skills and knowledge for a more efficient and effective ways to complete WPBA.
  • Better understanding of how you assess compared to your peers.
  • Improved understanding of what is required to complete a CSR and ESR.
  • Developing skills and knowledge for a more efficient and effective way to complete the CSR and ESR.
  • Improved knowledge of how to use Educator Notes.
  • Improved knowledge of how CSRs and ESRs help inform ARCP panel Outcomes.
