SubjectGP Intending Trainers
DescriptionWPBAs and Educational Supervision for Intending GP Trainers. This 2 day pilot course will support a change in the approval system to enable intending trainers to commence training sooner. The course provides part of the mandatory training requirements for you to apply for the accelerated pathway for intending GP Trainers prior to the completion of your PGCME. Please note you are required to attend both day Tuesday 5th March & Wednesday 6th March 2019. Attendance at this course could enable you to start training in August 2019 (subject to a successful application)

Open to all intending trainers though we will be prioritising intending trainers from those areas where there is currently a shortage of trainers. These areas are Hull, North Lincolnshire, Scarborough, DWP, York and Clumber.

Objectives
  • We will be covering all aspects of WPBA, the CSR and ESR.
  • There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and picking up tips on how to use WPBA  Educator Notes, the CSR and ESR effectively and efficiently and how to save time as a Trainer and Educational Supervisor.
  • Share ideas about how to make the most of these assessment tools.
  • There will be an opportunity for benchmarking and how we can ensure Trainees are treated fairly.

  • Improved understanding of what is required to conduct WPBA.
  • Developing skills and knowledge for a more efficient and effective ways to complete WPBA.
  • Better understanding of how you assess compared to your peers.
  • Improved understanding of what is required to complete a CSR and ESR.
