DescriptionA practical, case-based reminder of how to identify, analyse and resolve ethical dilemmas in clinical practice. The session is discussion-based and seeks to emphasise the formulation, articulation and exchange of ethical ideas and theory.
Additional information

Participants should bring and be prepared to discuss ethical cases from their own practice with other attendees.

Aims

A familiarisation with all aspects of ethics in clinical practice.

Objectives

Through case based discussion:

  • A broad understanding of medical ethics, including basic ethical theory.
  • Identification of ethical problems, e.g. through appreciating key concepts
  • An approach to ethical problem solving
