Description | This one-day course for those returning to training utilises a blended approach of presentations, group work and clinical skills / simulation-based learning provided within a safe environment to refresh the assessment of the acutely unwell patient and basic skills. This course is not suitable for parents to bring their children with them. |

Target audience | This course is restricted to trainee doctors and dentists who are taking time out of training or who have returned to training within the last 3 months. Please only book if you meet this criteria. IMG trainee doctors may also attend within their first 6 months of working within the NHS. (IMG = International Medical Graduate.) Mandatory: Dentist, or Doctor, or Public Health Professional |

Aims | To provide those returning to training an opportunity to refresh their skills and assessment of the acutely unwell patient and give them confidence to return to practice. |
Objectives | The course utilises talks, clinical skills training using part-task trainers and scenario-based training using a high-fidelity manikin. |
Learning outcomes | By the end of the course the delegates should have confidence to return to practice and: · Have refreshed the A to E approach to assessing the acutely unwell patient including early warning score. · Have refreshed basic clinical skills. · Have been able to put theory into practice using simulation-based scenarios |
