We will touch on our own personal experiences of this topic and reflect on how to help ourselves and trainees to develop their own Resilience.

2. To apply resilience in the medical setting

3. To recommend personal applications of Resilience.

4. To Recommend application of resilience to Trainees.

Objectives

1. To be confident with a definition of Resilience

2. To be aware and discuss examples of Resilience published in various Media.

3. To Discuss the delegates experience of Resilience.

4. To Develop ways of improving personal Resilience.

5. To develop ways of teaching Resilience to the Registrars.

Learning outcomes
  • The candidates will learn common definitions of Resilience.
  • Candidate will be aware of other peoples experience of Resilience in relation to their own.
  • Candidates will discuss examples of Resilience from certain texts and use these to improve their own understanding of resilience.
  • Candidates will use their own improved understanding of Resilience to formulate a tutorial to deliver to Registrars.
