Target audience are Sedation practitioners at LTHT, including Medical and Nursing background. It is not intended for Anaesthetists

Recommended to all

To enhance the skills of sedation practitioners in providing moderate depth procedural sedation, whilst maintaining patient safety and comfort. This will be achieved through pre course eLearning modules, and on the day interactive talks, simulation scenarios, monitoring workshops and case based discussions.

-The providers will gain the skills and knowledge required in:

-Patient selection, assessment and preparation,

-The role of the Sedation provider within the procedural team,

-Sedation administration including common drugs, doses and pharmacology

-Monitoring standards and recognition and management of over sedation, and other sedation related incidents,

-Safe discharge of patients.
