| Description | The MOET course provides a structured approach to recognition, resuscitation and treatment of emergencies in those with the altered physiology & anatomy of pregnancy. The physiological adjustments of pregnancy affect the responses of the mother to illness and injury, requiring resuscitation to be tailored to the pregnant patient. |

| Aims | Aims · To provide the knowledge, practical skills and procedures necessary to save the mother and foetus in life-threatening circumstances · To present a systematic approach of primary survey, resuscitation, secondary survey and definitive care, enabling the clinician to give the best patient care in complex situation · To review trauma and emergencies in the pregnant patient, including triage and transfer There are two elements to the course as follows: E-Learning: It is mandatory to complete pre face-to-face course e-learning modules and a pre-course MCQ via the ALSG website. These can take up to 10 hours to complete and the enrolment key for the VLE (virtual learning environment) will be forwarded by the course administrator as part of your pre-course pack approx. six week prior to the course A candidate who attends the face-to-face component without having completed the pre-course e-learning will be unable to pass the course and entitled to an observer certificate only Face-to-Face: The two day face-to-face element is delivered through a series of lectures, demonstrations and assessed simulation and skills stations Assessment takes place by simulation-based OSCE on day two of the course. If you are successful, MOET certification is valid for four years and includes access to the ALSG VLE |
