| Additional information | For HSTs (ST6s nearing CCT will get priority first and then we will work our way down the grades). There will be 4 sessions spread over 2 days for each set of the skills below. You only need to book on one of the days either an AM or PM session. Skills include: Set 1 Surgical airway management RSI NIV Open chest drain Lateral canthotomy Large joint aspiration Set 2 DC Cardioversion External pacing Pericardiocentesis Haemorrhage management Emergency delivery Resuscitative hysterotomy/Perimortem C-section We have created a Clinical Skills page on Blackboard and this will be released to you once it is complete. There is a link to the RCEM curriculum with what is required from you. There will be videos on the gold-standard technique of the skill, e-learning to complete and an OSCE mark sheet for reference. Please ensure this is completed prior to the session. You will have limited time and senior support during the day. The session is for hands-on practice only and not learning for the first time (This is unfortunately due to time + booking constraints and current restrictions). Please make full use of them. These days will be run yearly so don’t worry if you miss out on them now. There will be plenty of chance to access them and you will move up the priority list next year. |
