DescriptionObstetrics and Gynaecology Bootcamp is an innovative, practical ands on simulation rich course which complies with and goes beyond the RCOG curriculum for ST1 and ST2 doctors. It is also suitable for those returning to O&G training after a period of absence.

Course structure:

Module 1- Basic general surgical skills/ Examination skills

knot tying and suturing. Opening and closing abdomen. Gynaecology examination and pelvic procedures including IUD insertion/ work catheter/ smear taking.

 

Module 2- Gynaecology procedures (1)

Surgical management of pregnancy loss including manual vacuum aspiration, basic gynaecology instruments, hysteroscopy (diagnostic resection myosure)

 

Module 3- Gynaecology Procedures (2)

Basic laparoscopy skills, Access, Laparoscopic trainer box with EBLUS exercises, VR lap mentor exercises, Urodynamics, Cystoscopy, supportive vaginal pessary insertion

 

Module 4- Obstetric Skills

CTG interpretation and FBS, Instrumental deliveries (forceps. ventouse), Episotomy, OASIS repair, shoulder dystocia, PPH and MROP, Obstetric non-technical skills

  • Non-technical skills training using simulation clinical scenarios and structured interactive debriefing sessions.
