This session aims to heighten awareness of how susceptible we are to stress/anxiety and how to identify concerns and understand how colleagues might react to this

Meeting unmet needs: A Voyage of discovery- Sarah McKaig

  • To raise awareness of the need for a national care pathway in the management of children with craniofacial deformity.
  • To explore current services in the UK and update on access to dental care for this group of patients
Objectives

  • Examine the definitions of stress/anxiety
  • Recognise how to identify concerns
  • Clarify how to manage any concerns you have for your own/colleagues welfare

Meeting unmet needs: A Voyage of discovery- Sarah McKaig

  • Provide brief overview of craniofacial conditions and highlight challenges in providing care in this group of patients.
  • Share the Birmingham experience and to identify the need for a national dental care pathway.
  • Explore the implications of developing this nationally, gathering information and feedback on services
  • Recruit colleagues to contribute to the development of a national pathway.
