To present requirements of Foundation yea rand examine practical skill sets and competencies required. How to seamlessly embed into the FD’s practice and get the most out of the year. How to be successful in Team working and managing workplace relationships. To highlight aspects of Professional behaviour and communication. Tips on stress management and building resilience.

Objectives

To assist FD’s in making transition to the workplace and General Practice and providing effective holistic dentistry. To understand better the environment of GDP and its challenges and the attributes required to be successful. To emphasize a patient centered approach. To understand some of the do’s and don’ts of General Practice. To share tips on getting off to a good start.

Learning outcomes

Increase awareness of all skills required in General dental Practice Understand the challenges and requirements of General Practice and assist the transition from undergraduate level. Achieve a greater understanding of the context of the workplace in General Practice and behaviours and standards necessary to be successful. To ensure compliance with GDC standards and assist satisfactory completion of competencies. To promote, inspire and enthuse for a career in General Practice.
