Aims

To provide an update on the preventative measures for environmental cleaning and maintenance in the dental setting.

Objectives
  • Understand the importance of environmental cleanliness and maintenance in the dental setting
  • Identify how cleaning and maintaining the environment reduces the impact of healthcare associated infections (HCAI’s) on patients.
  • Clarify how to apply those preventative measures in line with the dental professional’s duty of care to patients to help prevent the spread of HCAI infections
  • Apply those preventative measures to local practice and update local policies and procedures were relevant
Learning outcomes

Following this training delegates will understand the need to apply effective infection prevention and control measures in the dental setting with regards to environmental cleaning and maintenance, reducing potential infection risk factors for all patients, staff and visitors.
