Aims

To provide dental staff with the knowledge to assess, manage and treat the seriously ill patient within the dental surgery until emergency assistance arrives

Objectives
  • List appropriate AGP and non AGP.
  • State the changes to the RCUK resus guidelines in line with COVID 19 and the implications in practice.
  • Discuss the management of the seriously ill patient.
  • Explain the structured approach to assessment and management.
  • Recall the appropriate medication and treatment strategies for various medical emergencies.
  • Consider previous training and risk assess current equipment to ensure fit for purpose.
Learning outcomes

Participants will be able to demonstrate a greater understanding of the structured approach to the management of medical emergencies and regulations for compliance on current practice.
