DescriptionAll registered professionals need to be aware of the legal requirements upon them! Lead Dental Nurses need to ensure the correct standards are met both in their work, as well the work of the people whose work they supervise.
Additional information

This course looks closely at regulatory bodies and their aims and considers how registrants also have responsibility for the work of non-registered team members to ensure they work within their scope of practice, while keeping their skills current and fit for purpose to protect patients’ best interests.

Please note that this is one of four workshops designed to equip Lead Dental Nurses to ensure performance of the role to a high standard.

Aims

This session aims to:

  • Identify the role of dental lead bodies
  • Explain the responsibilities of dental registrants
  • Define the role of dental nurses in the quality development
  • Explain record keeping standards
Objectives
  • Understand the influence of HTM guidance, health and safety and the Health and Social Care Act (2008) regulation upon the Lead Nurse role
  • Recognise the importance of accurate and contemporaneous record keeping
  • Explore practical ways to ensure that the highest standards of record keeping are maintained in the dental workplace.
