All dental practices should aim to minimise risk of a potential fire, and follow the appropriate health and safety guidelines and this is something which may be reviewed by CQC KLOE. This course provides you with an understanding of currently legislation, common causes of fire and the duties of a fire marshal. You will also experience what it is like to use a fare extinguisher with our new hands on extinguisher training element. Sean Corcoran is an ex HMRC North West Health & Safety officer who is now working as a Health & Safety consultant at Health @ Work.

Hands on element of using a Fire Extinguisher is included.

Registration begins at 1:00pm

If you have completed a Fire Marshal course with HEE within the last 5 years, you will not need to take this course again.

Aims

The aim is to provide an understanding of the role of a ‘Fire Marshal’ and responsibilities of the role, understanding the difference between Fire Extinguishers and how to effectively use them.

Objectives
  • identify common causes of fire (elements of fire)
  • understand the duties of a fire marshal
  • recognise and understand fire safety management and associated policies
  • gain an understanding of current legislation
  • identify the first aid fire fighting equipment appropriate for different types of fire
  • to Know how to use a Fire Extinguisher effectively
Learning outcomes

Delegates will further understand current legislation and understand the role of a fire marshal and have the confidence to use firefighting equipment if required.
